The Assignment
Our client, a major fashion retailer needs to select a 3rd party to provide full payment services for store based, internet and mail order sales.
They are looking for a qualified accountant to join the project management team and take full responsibility for the financial evaluation of 3rd party proposals. This will involve developing a zero based cost model, defining data input requirements and working directly with 3rd party personnel to ensure these are complied with.
This position will be accountable to the Project Board for providing detailed financial analysis to support the selection decision, this position will be relied on to present a comprehensive cost comparison of 3rd party services at an individual transaction level and of providing an overall cost summary and supporting financial justification.
This is a demanding role; it will demand you to integrate quickly with the existing project team and to adopt the project deadlines without question, it will demand you to quickly apply your knowledge and experience and work diligently and responsibly, it will demand you to take your responsibilities seriously and It will require you to be away from your home base on a weekly basis with travel around Europe.

The Person
You must hold a relevant accountancy qualification, you will have an extensive understanding of financial modeling, specifically zero based costing and will posses an in-depth understanding of spreadsheet applications.
You must have the strength of character to work on your own and under pressure. You must have the self discipline to meet tight deadlines and the diplomacy and drive to work with others to meet your deadlines.
Ideal candidates would have direct experience of retail payment services projects. Suitable candidates will have direct experience of managing cost modeling for similar projects such as evaluating potential outsource providers on cost, providing detailed cost comparison to support major procurement exercises.
You must be willing to commit to spending time away from your home base.
